Job summary

The Green Technology Group, LLC (TGTG) is seeking a skilled Technical Writer/Editor with a strong background in strategic communications to support our Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT) customer. The candidate must be a self-starter who can quickly understand new assignments, conduct research, provide relevant content, offer solutions, and adapt.

A baseline understanding of IT and experience with Organizational Change Management would be preferred.

Qualifications

• Must edit narrative and graphics for grammar and logic.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and scheduling tools.
• Meet with authors and team representatives to review documents and finalize publishable documentation.
• Explain complex scientific/technical ideas in plain language.
• Distill complex research into short, compelling narratives.
• Collaborate with authors to finalize documents and address comments.
• Proven ability to create or improve briefings and visuals (charts, graphs, PowerPoint).
• Advanced writing and editing skills.
• Adaptability, diplomacy, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Conducts research for initiatives and provides content for CIO/CTO/engineering teams.
• Distills complex topics into plain language for diverse audiences.
• Creates strategic UX copy across platforms that is compelling and clear.
• Collaborates with executives and IT groups to improve content processes.
• Repurposes content for various audiences and uses.
• Performs quality control of content.
• Translates complex data into user-friendly text for publications.
• Selects layouts, graphics, charts to clarify objectives.
• Edits narratives and graphics to fix errors and ensure consistency.
