Job summary

OpenTrain AI is seeking an expert Technical Writer and Editor contractor to evaluate AI-generated responses to writing prompts. You will assess clarity, tone, and usefulness, providing comprehensive rationales and scoring to support evaluations.

The role requires advanced English writing, careful analysis, and the ability to recognize subtle differences in technical and instructional writing. This is a contract position with remote collaboration across North America and the UK.

Qualifications

• Native or bilingual English proficiency
• Exceptional written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in technical writing, editing, or content evaluation
• Strong ability to assess clarity, tone, coherence, and usefulness
• Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness in analysis and documentation
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively virtually
• Familiarity with digital platforms for content review or evaluation is preferred
• Experience with AI systems or model evaluation practices is a plus

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated content systematically and document findings with precision
• Help identify ways to improve the quality and instructional value of language model outputs
• Collaborate asynchronously with project managers and reviewers to produce consistent deliverables
• Evaluate and compare multiple AI-generated responses to writing prompts
• Score responses for clarity, tone, helpfulness, and adherence to instructions
• Write clear, concise rationales that justify assessments
• Identify opportunities to improve language model quality and instructional value
• Maintain meticulous documentation and attention to detail
• Manage deadlines and deliver thorough work independently
