This position is eligible for telework, which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.
A Senior Technical Specialist 3 will demonstrate their ability to work independently and in a team and manage and succeed in a fast-paced technical environment. This candidate will have a proven ability to analyze situations accurately and reach effective decisions based on informed judgment and consultation.
Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate technical discipline or an equivalent subject.
Master's preferred.
Various disciplines may include, but are not limited to, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Computer, Communications, Electrical, Electronics, Signals, or Systems Engineering/Technology.
Must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience.
Must have a minimum of six (6) years in a managerial or supervisory role and/or project manager role in a large, multi‑faceted organization and/or with highly complex systems.
Experience in large-scale technical issues for significant construction projects or projects with highly complex systems is preferred.
Experience leading and managing designers, contractors, subcontractors, and/or vendors.
PMP or relevant technical certifications are desirable.
NYS Licensed Professional Engineer is a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all internal organizational levels to drive project/program outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to work in a high-profile, high-pressure environment effectively.
Must have focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Must be a proven leader as a change agent and creative/innovative thinker with the ability to align business goals with solutions to drive process improvements.
Must possess excellent team‑building, listening, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
Proficiency in current design and engineering software and Microsoft Office is required.

Able to multitask and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.
Final salary is determined by experience, skill set, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
