Job summary

Kemper Corporation is seeking a Technical Security Controls Principal to lead enterprise security-control architecture and continuous assurance across identity, endpoint, network, cloud, and data domains.

The role requires senior technical judgment, hands-on ability to review configurations and logs, and the ability to mentor analysts and engineers while driving consistent control-engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of progressive cybersecurity experience.
• Experience designing technical control tests and validating operating effectiveness.
• Ability to review configurations, logs, and system data to assess control performance.
• Proficiency with scripting, APIs, analytics, or security telemetry for evidence collection.
• Strong understanding of cloud, identity, endpoint, network, data protection, and logging control patterns.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise technical security-control patterns, standards, and design expectations.
• Assess controls to ensure they are designed and operating as intended.
• Develop technical test procedures and evidence standards beyond documents.
• Build or sponsor automation, telemetry analytics, and continuous-control-monitoring use cases.
• Lead complex control-gap analyses, remediation design, and closure validation.
