Job summary

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) seeks a Principal Safeguards & Security Specialist (Technical Security Analyst) to serve as a high-level technical authority for complex security analyses. This role provides quantitative risk assessments and designs protective measures for NNSS, reporting to the Technical Analysis Section Supervisor.

The incumbent will use advanced modeling and DOE-aligned methodologies to evaluate vulnerabilities, lead risk-based security operations, and liaison

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience; plus 8 years of progressive related experience.
• Ability to address complex problems and provide rigorous technical solutions.
• Ability to work independently on safeguards and security program objectives and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate blast dynamics, structural response, and explosive threats using established models.
• Assign Protection Levels (PL 1–8) across SNM, classified assets, and infrastructure.
• Develop risk-based security frameworks and perform quantitative risk assessments.
• Lead design and integration of protection systems and protective force deployment.
• Interpret safeguards standards and guide integration into facility designs.
• Prepare technical assessment reports and briefing artifacts for DOE/NNSA and stakeholders.
