Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to own end-to-end recruiting across hardware engineering disciplines such as avionics, propulsion, thermal, structures, mechanisms, or manufacturing. Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting for engineering roles.
• Ability to source and close senior-level engineering talent in competitive markets.
• Strong communication with candidates and hiring managers; data-driven mindset.
• Experience with hardware or deep-tech startups is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage 4-8 active searches simultaneously, keeping pipeline full and moving.
• Proactively source engineering talent through multiple channels.
• Conduct recruiter screens to assess engineering fundamentals.
• Develop and maintain structured interview guides with hiring managers.
• Drive offers through to close, including compensation, equity, relocation.
• Take full accountability for search outcomes; use data to identify bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to keep hiring processes updated.
• Build and maintain a warm candidate community.
• Partner with People Ops to ensure compliance with employment laws, OFCCP, and export control considerations.
