Job summary

Planet is seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive its largest cross-team initiatives, from concept through delivery, across global time zones. This role partners with team leads to develop and manage end-to-end program plans, schedules, metrics, risks, and stakeholder updates.

Based in Arlington, VA, this full-time hybrid position centers on the Insights Platform—enabling customers to discover, process, and stream data while scaling data services and improving workflows and execution.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development or program management in SaaS, large data lifecycles, discovery/search, or cloud delivery.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects across a broad organization.
• Experience with the product lifecycle from concept through development, launch, go-to-market, deprecation, and end-of-life.
• Experience coordinating high-stakes technical programs across global timezones with asynchronous workflows.
• Track record of migrations or service consolidations moving to unified platform endpoints.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to balance day-to-day with long-term improvements to scale operations.
• Interest in applying AI to automate workflows and improve data/productivity.
• Experience with remote sensing, earth observation data, or geospatial systems.
• Experience working with remote worldwide teams.
• Growth mindset and quick learning.

Responsibilities

• Drive Planet’s largest, complex programs across many teams, owning end-to-end plans, schedules, metrics, risks, and stakeholder communication.
• Lead the Insights Platform development, building new discovery experiences and scaling high-performance data services for customer applications; operate in a hybrid Arlington, VA role.
