Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for Edge Technologies to lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs across Sunnyvale, CA and Reston, VA. You will own requirements, manage risks, and communicate with executives and engineers alike, shaping AI and infrastructure initiatives at scale.

The role involves delivering edge infrastructure projects, defining roadmaps, and coordinating across Google Networking Technologies and Edge teams to ensure timely, high-impact results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience delivering network technologies or services within network environments (service provider, enterprise, or cloud networks).
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with NPIs.
  • Experience developing and influencing long-term strategy and roadmaps for network infrastructure or software systems.
  • Experience with network protocols and technologies common in service providers or enterprise edge networks (BGP, MPLS, SR, SDN).

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive NPIs, acting as a catalyst to gain support and drive completion.
  • Collaborate with GNT and Edge engineering to develop long-term strategy and short-term plans, creating roadmaps and setting the development pace for software and infrastructure.
  • Drive project delivery, technology reviews, guide proposals, and build consensus across cross-functional teams.
  • Design and implement process improvements and scale for program teams to improve delivery of network capacity on time and with availability.
  • Deliver cross-functional projects/programs, ensuring customer value and managing Edge programs that include new NPIs, Edge architecture, and features to deliver new services.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $192000 - $278000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Identify and initiate New Product Introductions (NPIs) in response to opportunities and needs, acting as the catalyst for gaining support and driving them to completion.
  • Collaborate with Google Networking Technologies (GNT) and Edge engineering teams to develop and articulate long-term strategy and short-term plans, creating roadmaps, engaging teams and engineers, and setting the development pace for software systems and infrastructure.
  • Drive project delivery, technology reviews, guide technical proposals, and build consensus across cross-functional teams.
  • Design and implement new process improvements and facilitate scaling for program teams. Contribute to improving Google's ability to deliver network capacity on time and with availability.
