What you'll do
- Oversee complex, cross-functional initiatives within the AppEx engineering team, guiding projects from their inception through to successful delivery, which includes application interfaces, developer tools, AI functionalities, and core platform elements.
- Partner closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Principal Engineers to develop comprehensive program roadmaps, identify interdependencies, and formulate effective execution strategies.
- Serve as a key liaison across various AppEx sub-teams (Applications, Notebooks, Native Apps, Drivers, AIML, Developer Platform) to ensure alignment on programs and proactively address any obstacles that arise.
- Develop and uphold consistent reporting mechanisms that track milestones, risks, decisions, and overall engineering health, escalating critical issues to leadership when necessary.
- Drive cross-organizational consensus on shared APIs, integration points, and the rollout of developer-facing features that affect multiple Snowflake products.
- Identify and rectify systemic inefficiencies in the planning and delivery processes of the AppEx team, creating streamlined workflows and processes supported by tools to enhance engineering efficiency and predictability.
- Deliver updates and strategic recommendations regarding AppEx programs to senior leadership, utilizing clear, data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration and transparency within the team, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the program lifecycle.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in technical program management within a cloud software environment, with a proven track record of overseeing complex, cross-team projects from initiation to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of developer-facing products or platform engineering, particularly in creating exceptional developer experiences and managing large-scale deployments.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with engineers and architects, diving into technical specifications while maintaining focus on program execution.
- Strong cross-functional leadership capabilities, effectively driving alignment across Engineering, Product, Design, and Go-to-Market teams without direct authority.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations, establishing structure and making progress even when complete information is not available.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively to engineers, executives, and various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with modern cloud-native software development lifecycles, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), release management, and API-first development methodologies.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, data platforms, or developer tools such as Streamlit, Notebooks, Native Apps, or Spark.
- Previous involvement in AI/ML product development initiatives or the delivery of intelligent applications.
- Experience managing programs within the developer ecosystem, including SDKs, drivers, or developer relations efforts.
- Knowledge of program management tools like Linear, Jira, or Shortcut, along with experience in data-driven program health dashboards.
- Background in a rapidly expanding, post-IPO tech company.
