Job summary

Merck is seeking a Sr. Specialist in Technical Product Management with deep expertise in analytical method development, drug substance/process development and manufacturing, and clinical supply processes.

The role collaborates with Product, Data Science and Engineering to define data products for analytical methods, gather and prioritize requirements, write user stories, maintain the backlog, and guide testing and training for scientific and supply users.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building tools or data assets for scientific workflows.
• 3-5 years partnering with scientific users to define data product requirements.
• Experience with data analytics capabilities in a scientific context.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering to define data products for analytical methods and process development.
• Gather, manage, and prioritize product requirements from scientific stakeholders.
• Define product backlog, write actionable user stories reflecting workflows in method development and supply.
• Act as user expert to understand scientific and supply users’ goals and pain points.
• Prioritize improvements to existing products delivering measurable value to research and manufacturing.
• Develop domain knowledge in analytical sciences, bioprocessing, and manufacturing/supply processes.
• Write clear problem statements; facilitate solution design with engineering teams.
• Serve as Product Owner on Agile teams; ensure scientific/data needs are met.
• Plan, design, and conduct testing; prepare training content for end-users.
• Analyze data to generate insights informing strategy and decisions.
