Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a product leader to develop and articulate a software product vision aligned with customer needs and our mission.

You will own the product roadmap, define requirements, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and lead cross-functional teams through development and launch.

Use data and SQL to inform decisions, prototype features with AI, and drive adoption while delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of product management, software development, or hardware engineering experience.
• Proven track record managing products through lifecycle from conception to launch and scale.
• Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, make trade-offs, and evaluate new ideas.

Job description

• Develop and articulate software product vision and strategy aligned with customer needs and Blue Origin’s mission
• Apply manufacturing and engineering configuration-management expertise to understand internal customer needs
• Engage aerospace engineers, manufacturing partners, and change managers to gather feedback and improve product experience
• Own the software roadmap and prioritize features based on customer needs, business impact, and technical feasibility
• Define product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Use AI to rapidly prototype and ship features
• Deliver high-quality products on time and within budget
• Lead cross-functional teams through product development and launch
• Drive adoption of product features and improvements as a product evangelist
• Define, monitor, and report key product-success metrics
• Use data to inform product decisions and prioritization
• Drive continuous improvement of product processes, tools, and methodologies
• Lead product discovery to identify technology solutions for customer challenges
• Collaborate with aerospace, manufacturing engineering, software engineering, and design teams
• Travel up to 25% of the time

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of product management, software development, or hardware engineering experience
• Proven track record managing products through their entire lifecycle from conception to launch and scale
• Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, make trade-offs, and evaluate new ideas
• Track record of influencing software architecture and design
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Ability to independently handle data retrieval using SQL
• Ability to leverage data for decision-making and product prioritization
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
• Passion for Blue Origin’s mission and vision
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee or asylee
• Successful background check required
• Preferred: Experience developing systems for hardware configuration management and change management, especially in aerospace
• Preferred: Track record owning operational excellence goals such as defect reduction, first pass yield, and cycle times
