Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is seeking experienced Procedure Writers to develop and revise technical procedures for tasks across dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection at Y-12 in Oak Ridge, TN, and Pantex in Amarillo, TX. Roles require DOE Q clearance and time spent ensuring procedures meet stringent safety and quality standards.

Writers must adhere to procedural processes TPAT, Y15-232, and Y15-235, with emphasis on hazard

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree with 15–20 years’ experience in technical disciplines, in addition to experience writing technical procedures in a commercial or Weapons Complex facility.
Familiarity with regulatory and administrative requirements affecting procedures; knowledge of applicable DOE orders and standards.
Active DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Responsibilities

Develop new, revised, or modified technical procedures enabling safe and correct execution of tasks such as dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection.
Comply with Y15-232, the Technical Procedure Process, and the Technical Procedure Authoring Tool (TPAT).
Occasionally develop or revise administrative procedures; comply with Y15-235 and the Administrative Procedure Authoring Tool (APAT).
Develop Enterprise procedures applicable to Y-12 and Pantex.
Prepare and coordinate procedure reviews and comment resolution.
Implement hazard controls, capture quality and performance data, and ensure procedures can be performed as written through verification and validation.
