Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead equipment projects from concept to commissioning at North American sites. The role combines mechanical design oversight, procurement, and system integration, with travel up to 50% and occasional international work.

The Manager acts as the chief engineer for investment deployments, coordinating across R&D, safety, production, and finance. The ideal candidate brings a mechanical background and extensive project delivery experience,

Qualifications

• 10+ years as lead engineer and project manager on machinery projects
• 5+ years in mechanical design or tooling engineering
• Experience developing comprehensive requirements, justification proposals, and metrics
• Experience with utilities (HVAC, water, gas, electrical, OT network)
• Experience procuring machinery with PLC programming and safety requirements
• Experience managing general contractors for civil/building construction

Responsibilities

• Understand project opportunities and challenges with R&D, safety, production, quality, maintenance, finance stakeholders
• Develop project concepts using CAD and other tools
• Develop equipment and system requirements; ensure contractual alignment
• Perform risk analyses and mitigate risks
• Develop project success metrics and align stakeholders
• Use PM tools (Gantt, WBS, risk tracking) to manage progress
• Attend factory acceptance tests
• Supervise site preparation, installation, and commissioning on site
• Up to 50% domestic travel and international supplier benchmarking as needed
• Additional duties as assigned
