Duties/Responsibilities

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum DOE

Working hours: 0800-1700, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

Contract Type: 12 Month FTC, Full Time

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Operations Manager with a Mechanical Bias.

  • Accountable for fostering a psychological safety culture within the workforce, coaching direct reports to ensure foundational and improvement initiatives are successfully delivered and reinforced.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory, critical, and GxP deliverables.
  • Delivering exceptional stakeholder engagement, maintaining high professional standards at all levels of operation.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring key stakeholders are engaged, informed, and confident in our service delivery.
  • Monitoring team key performance indicators and service level agreements, conducting reviews to ensure relevance and accuracy against evolving business models.
  • Ensuring resilience planning across all operational areas.
  • Overseeing technical assurance of staff competency across all influence spheres.
  • Providing a senior conduit between Operations and internal/external stakeholders to facilitate continuous improvement of deliverables.
  • Participating in the development of strategic plans, including organizational structure modeling and change initiatives.
  • Ensuring effective succession planning across all functions within the operations teams.
  • Implementing tactical actions aligned with strategic plans.
  • Engaging with procurement to manage cost-effective and competitive sourcing of technical services, influencing the supply chain.
  • Deputizing for the Head of Technical Operations as required.
Person Specification
  • Degree/HND/HNC in Engineering, Building Services, or a similar discipline, or relevant Level 5 professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience leading teams in an engineering or facilities management environment, preferably in a highly regulated setting.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or working towards it.
  • Strong understanding and experience of workplace safety management in a technical, front-line environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant building services statutory regulations, codes of practice, and quality control standards.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a demanding, active, client-facing environment.
