Senior Technical Lead (Solution Architect/DevOps Engineer) REMOTE

Description

Lume Consulting Group, a Sacramento-based IT consulting company, is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Senior Technical Lead (Solution Architect/DevOps Engineer).

Responsibilities

  • Meet as required with staff to discuss progress.
  • Participate in information gathering meetings, fact-finding meetings, working sessions, status reporting (both written and verbal), presentations, and general communication to ensure success of consultant activity performance.
  • Provide technical leadership in architecture, continuous integration, continuous deployment, automated testing, scripting of server configuration, and repeatable process automation.
  • Responsible for setting the direction of the IT team and establishing the team’s vision and goals.
  • Create and maintain Application Programming Interfaces (API) used in the project.
  • Assist in planning and migrating functionality of current applications into the new application.
  • Add new features and applications that would integrate with the new application.
  • Assist with solution and enterprise architecture decisions and tasks.
  • Provide guidance on AWS solution design and implementation.
  • Provide guidance on maintenance and adjustments needed for the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Provide operating system administration support to maintain service continuity and system availability.
  • Participate in developing product roadmaps, backlogs, success criteria, and writing User Stories.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to the IT team.
  • At the end of twelve (12) months, assess the IT team to identify skill gaps.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of experience in DevOps, including at least one (1) year leading DevOps on cloud-based Digital Services projects.
  • Experience creating and maintaining APIs.
  • Experience with solution/enterprise architecture.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Version Control: Git, GitHub, Gitflow Workflow
    • CI/CD: Jenkins, CircleCI
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Terraform, Helm charts, manifest files
    • AWS services, including networking (VPC, NACLs, Security Groups, Transit Gateways)
  • The applicant must provide two references.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with ABC System, BizMod, or similar systems.
  • Experience in analyzing, modeling, and baselining system configurations as a DevOps Engineer or Engineering Manager.
  • Experience monitoring and tuning system performance.
  • Experience network administration and log maintenance.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment using automation.
