Requisition ID174718-Posted10/01/2026
Summary The Network Product Quality Engineering team is looking for a hands-on Product Quality Engineer to support network hardware across the full product lifecycle — design maturity and build readiness, NPI builds, mass production ramp, and sustaining/field quality. This role expands the team's execution bandwidth by owning the day-to-day mechanics of quality data, issue tracking, documentation, and cross-functional follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze build and field quality data (yield, FPY, failure Pareto, DPPM, RMA trends); maintain recurring quality dashboards and build reports.
- Own the quality issue tracker end to end: intake, triage support, ownership, aging, escalation, and closure verification.
- Drive cross-functional follow-through with Design, Test, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Program Management, and Ops.
- Support build readiness reviews and NPI/ramp gates: checklists, entry/exit criteria, open-issue burndown, gate documentation.
- Provide onsite build support: line-side failure triage support, defect capture, sample handling, and failure analysis request tracking to closure.
- Track root cause and corrective actions (5-Why, 8D, CAPA) and verify effectiveness.
- Create and maintain quality documentation: inspection criteria, control plans, quality alerts, and lessons learned.
- Monitor field quality signals and support containment and permanent fix tracking for field escapes.
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in product quality, manufacturing quality, test, NPI, or reliability engineering for electronic hardware.
- Experience analyzing manufacturing/quality data and building recurring reports.
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis, 8D/5-Why, CAPA, and basic SPC.
- Demonstrated experience owning issue trackers and driving closure across multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work onsite in Fremont or Menlo Park, with flexibility for build-support hours and occasional travel to CM sites.
Other Requirements
- Experience with networking hardware (switches, routers, optical modules, cabling, NICs, line cards) or data center hardware.
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, or dashboarding tools to automate quality reporting.
- Experience working directly with CMs/ODMs and component suppliers in Asia.
- Familiarity with ATE/functional test flows, test log analysis, and reliability testing (ORT, HALT/HASS).
