Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a senior software engineer within Commercial Technologies Software Engineering to own technical execution and lead complex initiatives. You will collaborate with delivery leadership to mitigate risks, drive standards, and ensure end-to-end solution integrity across platforms.

The role emphasizes deep technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentoring of engineers while delivering high-quality, scalable software in a regulated enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in CS or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Experience with SDLC, requirements analysis and system design.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and resolve production issues.
• Experience with build and run operational practices (incident/change concepts).
• Experience with risk/security in regulated environments.
• Experience creating reference standards and reusable patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own technical execution quality for assigned solution areas.
• Lead design and code reviews to enforce standards.
• Identify risks early and propose mitigations with delivery leadership.
• Provide system and architecture awareness for end-to-end fit.
• Define and reinforce reference architectures and standards.
• Create technical documentation to guide decisions and ensure continuity.
• Operate as a senior IC providing deep technical leadership.
• Lead complex initiatives with defined approaches and deliverables.
• Translate business intent into technical designs.
• Partner with Solution Owners, Product, and delivery teams.
