Job summary

BigBear.ai seeks a Senior Technical Lead to support the DIA, guiding a team of developers to integrate legacy and modern systems with AI capabilities. Role is based in Washington, DC with 3-4 days on site at DIA HQ and hybrid flexibility.

You will lead technical strategy, coordinate with government leads, and ensure timely delivery of contracts’ development efforts, highlighting risks and opportunities for efficiency and impact.

Qualifications

  • Senior technical leadership experience (≥2 years) directing major technology initiatives.
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical strategies for app development and system integration with AI.
  • Security+ preferred; TS/SCI, CI Poly clearance required for consideration.

Responsibilities

Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). You will be joining our amazing BigBear.ai team by assuming a lead role to a team of application developers within the agency. Provide development for legacy and existing systems whether it’s building out new features, enhancements, or bug fixes and adding features that will allow our successor system to integrate with older legacy systems so that both systems can co-exist.

This position will be based out of Washington, D.C. DIA HQ (Joint Base Anacostia- Bolling) and will offer hybrid support with 3-4 days onsite.

What you will do

As a Senior Technical Lead, you shall develop and maintain technical strategies to ensure effective application development and integration between applications, including AI capabilities. You will be required to maintain daily communication with Government leads on requirements, mission priorities, performance measures, program goals and milestones, and support needs. You will oversee all contract application development work and present overview briefings and updates to Government leads, partners, and customers; report on business area progress at performance improvement meetings; and help identify opportunities for increase effectiveness, efficiency, scale, and impact. These responsibilities also include notifying Government and Contract CPM/CDPM of any issues or trends that pose a risk to mission priorities. As a Technical Lead, you shall assist the Contract CPM/CDPM in distilling requirements, communicating them to contract staff, and tracking progress against them. Additionally, you may be required to provide a technical need summary to the government program manager and government technical need, giving the client a consolidated roundup across all development efforts, with a special focus on areas that need client intervention.

What you need to have
  • Experience in a senior technical role for at least 2 years; propose and direct major technology
  • At least 2 years of experience developing and maintaining technical strategies for application development and integration between applications and use of AI to enhance development
  • Education: Minimum 12 years of experience in development work + Masters degree, or 14 years of experience in development work + Bachelors degree
  • Security+ is preferred
  • Clearance: TS/SCI, CI Poly required for consideration
