Candidates must hold a PhD in a related field, have extensive leadership experience, and be eligible

Qualifications

• PhD in Robotics, AI, CS, EE, ME or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive research and leadership with impact.
• Proven record of shaping outcomes on a portfolio of R&D efforts.
• Experience moving robotics/ autonomy tech from research to deployment with measurable value.
• Proven success securing external funding (NSF, DARPA, DoD, ARM Institute, industry consortia, etc.).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and able to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical thesis and the business value it enables.
• Own program outcomes, milestones, and risk retirement.
• Lead cross-disciplinary efforts across GE Aerospace Research and beyond.
• Identify new opportunity areas where robotics and autonomy create advantage.
• Shape partnerships with academia, national labs, and industry partners.
