Job summary

White Cap is seeking an estimator to prepare detailed material quantity estimates from owner or contractor plans. You will determine quantities, specify materials, and communicate with vendors to confirm availability and delivery timelines.

You will collaborate with design engineers, owners, and sales teams to develop bid strategies, support bids, and mentor junior staff. This hybrid role requires strong analytical skills and effective communication.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline or MS/MA with related field experience.
• Certification is required in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed and itemized material quantity estimates from owner/contractor plans.
• Identify material requirements and quantities from construction plans.
• Coordinate with material vendors on availability and delivery times.
• Clarify material issues with design engineers or owners via RFI.
• Support design/build concepts and value engineering with project teams.
• Assist in bid preparation and ensure timely quotations to customers.
• Mentor and review work of junior estimators and sales staff.
• Provide ongoing education to improve sales/estimating skills.
