Job summary

BS/BA in a related discipline; MS/MA may substitute for experience.
5–8 years of related field experience; MS/MA with 3–5 years acceptable in some areas; certification optional depending on role.

Responsibilities

Research plans/specifications to identify material requirements and scope.
Determine accurate quantities from construction plans and identify necessary materials.
Coordinate with vendors for availability and delivery timelines.
Clarify material issues with engineers/owners via RFIs or written requests.
Collaborate with design teams to suggest value engineering options for bids.
Assist in bid preparation and monitor pricing to ensure competitive offers.
Review work of other estimators and provide guidance as a senior staff member.
Provide ongoing training and mentoring to sales and estimating staff.
