Job summary

Nike Inc is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to translate design intent into commercially viable Nike Sportswear apparel, guiding fit, construction, quality, and manufacturability from concept to production. You will work closely with Design, Product Management, PCC, Materials, Manufacturing, and other teams to ensure on‑time delivery against development milestones.

The role requires strong technical design expertise, problem-solving, and communication skills, with travel up to 10% as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years directly relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, textile science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant apparel technical design or product creation experience.
• Experience in apparel fit, pattern‑making, grading, construction, specifications and manufacturing methods.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office; experience with Optitex and 3D apparel development platforms such as CLO or Browzwear strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate fit, construction, and technical execution from concept through commercialization and production, delivering against key dates and product goals.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for assigned styles, including specifications, patterns, and prototype notes.
• Execute fit and construction standards that strengthen consistency, quality, and manufacturability.
• Facilitate prototyping, identify technical and manufacturing challenges, communicate progress, and help protect product integrity throughout development.
• Partner with Design, Product Management, and Product Creation Centers to translate consumer insights and design intent into commercial products.
• Collaborate with Materials, Manufacturing, factory vendors, and other cross‑functional partners to support development, fit, quality, and manufacturability.
• Stay current on market trends, new technologies, consumer needs, and team goals to help complete projects within product creation guidelines.
