Job summary

The Crowd, a forward-thinking experiential design studio in New York, seeks a Senior Technical Designer to bridge concept and delivery, leading the technical work from design development through fabrication and installation.

You will develop detailed solutions, coordinate with teams in the US and UK, and help improve technical processes while working in a flexible hybrid schedule with generous PTO and strong health and wellness benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong background in 3D design with advanced Rhino modelling and CAD skills.
• Experience within commercial interiors, environmental graphics, architecture, exhibitions or experiential design.
• Experience producing detailed technical and production information.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and develop buildable concepts.
• Strong understanding of fabrication methods, materials and production processes.
• Experience using Revit and BIM workflows.
• Proven coordination experience with architects, consultants, fabricators and suppliers.
• Excellent document control and revision management.
• Highly organized with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine Rhino models from concept through to technical delivery.
• Translate creative concepts into clear, accurate and buildable drawing packages.
• Produce technical drawings, details and documentation for fabrication and installation.
• Coordinate technical information with internal teams, clients, consultants and fabricators.
• Carry out site surveys, attend site visits and support installations as required.
• Identify technical challenges and develop practical solutions throughout the project.
• Manage drawing registers, revisions and document control across multiple projects.
• Support supplier and fabricator coordination, including samples, approvals and technical reviews.
• Assist with production, procurement and quality control where required.
• Help improve technical processes, documentation standards and ways of working across the studio.

Our client, a forward-thinking experiential design studio, is looking for a skilled and imaginative team player to join them as a Senior Technical Designer.

The studio is seeking a technically strong designer who can bridge the gap between creative concept and technical delivery, taking ambitious ideas and developing them into robust, buildable and production-ready solutions. You’ll play a key role in taking projects from design development through to fabrication and installation, acting as the technical lead throughout project delivery while also having the opportunity to shape and improve technical processes and documentation standards within the wider business.

Working closely with creative colleagues in the US and UK, clients, consultants and fabricators, you’ll develop detailed technical solutions, produce drawing packages and ensure creative concepts can be successfully realized on site.
