CD PROJEKT RED is seeking an ambitious, highly skilled Senior Technical Designer to join the growing Cyberpunk 2 team in North America. You will contribute to achieving the vision of the project through identifying friction points and unblocking workflows for all design disciplines. For US hires, this role may be performed in a hybrid capacity from our Boston Hub, with relocation assistance available. Alternatively, this role may be performed remotely within the continental US or Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our Lead Systems Designer and our Engineering Leads to identify and help to resolve developmental friction points for designers.
  • Collaboratively design and work closely with engineering on workflows and designer authorship tools such as abilities, items, and many more.
  • Act as a bridge between design and engineering, sharing knowledge between the two to accelerate understanding and efficiency throughout both disciplines.
  • Engage with the engineering discipline in order to add features to existing technical architecture to extend functionality for designers.
  • Ensure that designs are clear with thorough documentation, collaborative meetings, and smart team-wide communication.

  • Experience writing C++ in Unreal Engine 4 or 5 in a responsible manner.
  • High level of C++ comprehension - ability to determine how a system works through code and ability to debug through code to help diagnose problems.
  • Proven ability to assess developer workflows and tools that improve implementation experience and efficiency for designers of all sub-disciplines.
  • Passion for workflows, tools, and the benefits of effectively sharing knowledge with other team members.
  • Thrive during times of rapid iteration through adaptability and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to explain design concepts clearly, document workflows, and exchange feedback across disciplines.
  • Passion for video games that leads to remaining current on industry trends including new game genres, new game design methods and techniques, and trending audio-visual excellence.

  • Experience working with IMGUI.
  • A personal affinity to role-playing games and a deep understanding of player expectations in the genre.
