Job summary

Zynga is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join a specialized technical team focused on prototyping and creating new games using AI. You will implement the tools and solutions our projects need, while communicating with artists and programmers.

Your primary objective is to reinvent mobile game development pipelines by capitalizing on current AI tools and building efficient asset workflows across 2D/3D, UI, and animation.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a Technical Artist or equivalent role.
• Strong familiarity with current AI tools and workflows (LLMs, Claude, Cursor, AI-assisted coding tools).
• Experience in mobile game development across 2D/3D/Animation/UI.

Position Overview:

To strengthen our current and future game developments, we are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Artist to join a specialized technical team focused on prototyping and creating \"new games\" using AI. You should have the technical skills to implement the tools and solutions our projects need, while also being able to communicate effectively with different project teams, artists, and programmers.

Your primary objective is to reinvent mobile game development pipelines by capitalizing as much as possible on current AI tools.

What You'll Do:

Act as a \"one-man army\" across various disciplines (2D, 3D, animation, UI) to rapidly build and test prototypes.

Reinvent traditional art workflows by evaluating and integrating state-of-the-art AI tools to maximize production efficiency.

Mediate between different departments to ensure smooth and efficient asset integration for AI-driven prototypes.

Achieve and maintain efficient art pipelines that are consistent across our projects, addressing the needs of the games in development.

Participate in the development of tools and solutions for our artists.

Teaching and documenting pipelines and best practices.

What You Bring:

At least 5 years of experience working as a Technical Artist or equivalent role

Strong familiarity and applied experience with current AI tools and workflows (LLMs, Claude, Cursor, AI-assisted coding tools).

Previous experience and knowledge in mobile game development across multiple disciplines (2D, 3D, Animation, UI).

Working knowledge of scripting languages (like Python) for developing AI automation tools.

Deep understanding of 2D/3D game asset pipelines.

Optimization techniques for mobile.

Creativity, curiosity, and passion!

Bonus Points:

Experience with ComfyUI or similar generative AI workflows is highly valued.

Shader knowledge of CG, HLSL or Shader Graph.

VFX knowledge.

Spine2D knowledge.

The pay range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $99,800 and $147,680 CAD per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company’s discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.The use of Artificial Intelligence is not being used to screen candidates.
