Job summary

McKinney York Architects, based in Austin, TX, is seeking a Technical Architect with a strong background in institutional projects to lead QA/QC efforts and support the design staff. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator with a passion for collaboration in a creative office setting.

Qualifications

10+ years of architectural experience on institutional projects.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with contract documents and QA/QC processes.
Understanding of IBC, IECC, NFPA 101, and TAS.
Familiarity with the City of Austin Land Development Code.
Commitment to sustainability.

Responsibilities

Perform quality control reviews of contract documents at milestones.
Collaborate with design teams on detailing, design coordination, and code compliance.
Mentor developing staff.
Incorporate sustainability initiatives into project reviews.
Contribute to the standard detail library.
Investigate quality related issues and make recommendations.

Professional degree in Architecture
