Job summary

Bloomberg Industry Group is seeking a senior software engineering leader to develop and manage a high-performing full stack team. You will guide architectural decisions, ensure observability and security, and drive delivery across multiple initiatives in a DevOps/Agile environment.

You will mentor engineers, shape broad architecture, and work with product teams to estimate effort while delivering value to the business. This role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of software development experience and leadership.
• Experience reducing the complexity of projects, services, and processes to get more done with less work.
• Proven influencer and thought leader in the full SDLC of distributed software delivery teams using Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps.
• Cloud technologies: AWS, Serverless, Event Driven Architecture, SOA, Microservices, Microfrontend, CI/CD, Infrastructure as code.
• Proficient in JavaScript, Node.js, Java or Python; frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
• Experience with software engineering practices and SDLC, including coding standards, reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide management, coaching and mentorship to those who report to this role to maximize team health, product delivery, effectiveness, and career growth.
• Deliver and present solutions for large initiatives across multiple verticals.
• Design, develop scalable, high availability, high performance products with a deep understanding of front end and back-end architectures.
• Shape broad architecture; ship multiple large services, complex libraries, or major pieces of infrastructure.
• Directly architect, design and deliver high-quality code and ensure high standards of development, observability, stability, and security.
• Guide the team on modern software development practices and technical direction while providing hands-on development support.
• Successfully manage projects and collaborate with partners and stakeholders to deliver value to the business.
