Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a hardware design engineer in Santa Clara to contribute to schematics and PCB CAD tasks, focus on high-speed interfaces, and ensure designs meet SI/PI requirements. The role involves lab testing with equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, and protocol analyzers.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate hardware specs, support DFM with manufacturing, and drive thorough testing and validation to meet quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience with schematics design and PCB CAD tools.
  • Understanding of PCIe/CXL, DDR, USB, UFS, SERDES interfaces.
  • Familiarity with signal and power integrity concepts.
  • Experience working in a lab environment with test equipment.
  • Hands-on with thermal chambers and protocol analyzers.

Responsibilities

  • Review hardware functional specifications with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure design meets requirements and DFM constraints with manufacturing.
  • Review test plans with Diagnostics & HW Test teams and close gaps.
  • Perform thorough testing and validation of hardware for compliance.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for defects.

Job description

  • Experience in any of the Schematics Design & PCB CAD tools like Cadence Orcad, Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics PADS & Cadence Allegro
  • Working experience on high-speed interfaces like PCIe/CXL, DDR, USB, UFS, SERDES…Etc
  • Clarity on Signal & Power Integrity concepts
  • Experience working in lab environment and using different equipment like DSO, Power supplies, BERT & Traffic generators
  • Experience working with Thermal Chamber & Protocol analyzers like PCIe, DDR, USB, UFS, SPI & I3C/I2C
  • Familiarity with Scripting languages like Phython/ Perl
  • Work with cross-functional teams to review the hardware functional specification document and ensure the design meets all the requirements.
  • Work with manufacturing team to review the design and ensure the DFM requirements are met
  • Work with Diagnostics & HW Test engineers to review the test plans and ensure there is no test coverage gap
  • Thorough testing and validation of hardware products to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and quality standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware defects in a timely manner and implement preventive measures for future occurrences
Key Responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
