Senior Technical Animator

Job description

As a Technical Animator, you will work alongside and support the Animation Team creating character, vehicle, weapon rigs and tools needed to support a creative and efficient production pipeline.

Requirements

1. Creating/debugging character/prop rigs for various projects.
2. Character skinning or skinning direction.
3. Coordinating with character artists and animators, taking feedback on rigs and identifying areas to improve the creation of animation content.
4. Collaborating with technical team for scripting/plugin help when needed.
5. Character/animation project planning; identifying rigging requirements and how they will affect modelling/animation.
6. Staying up to date on latest rigging/animation methods/workflow, and animator efficiency.
7. Helping develop and maintain character facial rigs to support facial animation pipelines.
8. Participating in and supervising integration of the animation assets into the game engine.

Required Skills

1. Must be proficient in Maya & Max.
2. IK/FK blending, spline controls, expressions, animator-friendly control setups.
3. Facial Rigging (Joint based & blendshapes).
4. Animation clip & pose library creation/sharing.
5. Passion for animation, organized, team player.
6. Excellent in communication and resourcefulness in problem solving.

Additional Preferred Skills

1. Proficient in Blender.
2. Experience with MotionBuilder.
3. Houdini KineFX.
4. Animation experience.
5. English (Written and/or spoken).
6. Game engine (Unreal, Unity, etc) experience.
