Amentum is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Advisor to join our component engineering group supporting our DoW programs. You will partner with project leads to ensure program success, mentor junior engineers, and drive analysis of non-standard parts and test data.

You will lead Parts, Materials, and Processes reviews, collaborate with test teams, and communicate complex technical issues to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 35+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with IEEE parts; MIL-STD and other industry standards for component parts.
• Ability to write technical reports and communicate ideas to customers and colleagues.
• Active US Government Top Secret clearance required.

Job description

Amentum is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Advisor to join our component engineering group supporting our key Government customer. This exciting opportunity will support multiple programs across the Department of War (DoW) with system parts, planning, testing, and analysis. This position will work alongside project leads to ensure program success, and mentor junior engineers.

As the Senior Technical Advisor, you would be doing the following:

• Perform analysis of and response to Non-Standard Part Approval Requests for electrical components that do not meet the requirements of the Parts Management Plan.
• Lead and participate in Program Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Board meetings to review, discuss, and determine the validity of non-standard parts survivability for intended use case.
• Mentor junior engineers to accurately evaluate components based on their qualification and test data.
• Collaborate with environmental and radiation test teams to complete component characterization and testing.
• Review test data and reports prior to being provided to customers.
  • Serve as a trusted senior technical advisor, offering expertise on highly complex technical issues, research priorities, and development strategies.
  • Participate in technical reviews, research discussions, and strategic planning efforts to provide proactive solutions that meet organizational objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 35 or more years of relevant experience.
• Component or Systems Engineering experience with a focus on quality and reliability standards and methods of IEEE parts.
• Knowledgeable of best design practices for IEEE parts
• Experience with military standards (MIL-STD), and various other industry standards in regards to the characteristics, performance, and survivability of component parts.
• Ability to analyze the differences between the military standards, and the part performance data.
• Ability to communicate ideas to customers, program office, colleagues, and contractors
• Ability to write technical reports.
• Proven communications and analytical skills with a sense of urgency and in a timely manner through work experience.
• Experience with nuclear modernization efforts.
• Must have an active US Government Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• 38+ years experience related to reliability, security, physics, and testing.
• Experience authoring or managing a Parts Management Plan.
• Experience in creating or reviewing Non-Standard Part Approval Requests.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to junior level engineers.

Compensation Details:

$180.00-$210.00 Hourly
