Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Analyst for a global technology and manufacturing client in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on complex accounting, financial reporting, and policy matters with extensive cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate will bring strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, research and writing skills, and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly across Finance, Legal, and external auditors. On-site work five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Progressive experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ability to research complex accounting matters.
• Experience with external financial reporting or public-company accounting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of external financial statements, disclosures, and regulatory filings in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Coordinate reporting timelines and prepare supporting documentation and filing-related workpapers.
• Assist with structured reporting requirements and respond to feedback from auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Research complex accounting matters and prepare clear, well-supported technical accounting analyses.
• Review contracts to identify recognition, measurement, classification, capitalization, and disclosure considerations.
• Support statutory financial reporting for international entities.
• Monitor new accounting guidance and evaluate its impact on activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting policies, reporting processes, systems, and controls through standardization and automation.
• Participate in special projects and other technical accounting and financial reporting initiatives.
