Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join our Accounting & Finance team. This role will lead technical accounting research, assist in GAAP financial reporting, and coordinate with auditors to ensure strong controls and accurate statements.

The position requires 5+ years in technical accounting, a bachelor’s in accounting, and preferably CPA; strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 5+ years of experience with technical accounting and financial reporting.
• CPA preferred.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with ERP general ledger systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical accounting research and documents conclusions.
• Assists in preparation of internal and external financial reporting under GAAP.
• Coordinates with external auditors and prepares necessary documentation.
• Develops and implements internal controls to ensure SOX 404 compliance.
• Keeps up-to-date with new accounting standards and assesses impact on statements.
• Advises business management on accounting matters.
• Supports monthly and quarterly close processes.
• Participates in valuations for business combinations and related accounting.
• Engages in special projects to address financial and operational issues.
• Participates in annual goodwill impairment assessment.
• Collaborates with tax and finance and external consultants.
• Performs ad hoc analysis as needed.
