Job summary

Cengage Group in the United States is seeking a senior accounting professional to advise on GAAP, financial reporting and SEC matters, contributing to memo, analyses and presentations.

You will collaborate with internal teams, prepare financial statements and disclosures, and support audit readiness and SOX compliance. Your role will also provide backup to the financial reporting team and coordinate with counsel and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 6+ years of growing responsibilities; public accounting experience is a plus.
• CPA preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a multi-priority, fast-paced environment and implement change.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with Workiva is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Research and advise on technical accounting topics, including GAAP, financial reporting, and SEC matters.
• Prepare comprehensive technical memos, analyses, and presentations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex accounting issues.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, and audit readiness.
• Operate as backup support for the financial reporting team.
• Support internal controls and SOX compliance initiatives.
• Facilitate coordination with internal and external counsel, as well as external auditors.
