Job summary

PacBio is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join our finance team. This role supports monthly and quarterly close, ensures U.S. GAAP compliance, and strengthens internal controls in a SOX environment.

You will partner with FP&A, Cost Accounting, Legal and external auditors to deliver accurate financial reporting, manage stock-based compensation ASC 718, and contribute to process improvements and systems initiatives in a fast-paced biotech setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
4–7 years of accounting experience.
Strong hands-on ASC 606, ASC 718 and ASC 842 application experience.
Public company and/or Big 4 experience.
SOX experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration across functions.
Advanced Excel skills and ERP systems experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with journal entries and reconciliations.
Ensure financial statements comply with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
Perform technical accounting research and document complex transactions.
Analyze accounting implications of revenue, leases, fixed assets, accruals, equity, debt.
Maintain internal controls in line with SOX requirements.
Support stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718.
Assist with SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q) disclosures as applicable.
Drive audit readiness and liaise with external auditors.
Lead process improvements and system implementation initiatives.
