Job summary

World Insurance Associates LLC invites a detail-oriented Technical Accountant to join our growing finance team in New Jersey. You will help with acquisition accounting, GAAP disclosures, and complex intercompany entries using NetSuite.

The role requires at least five years of accounting experience, familiarity with ASC 805 and ASC 606, and strong communication. CPA is preferred. You will contribute to monthly reporting and annual closes in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with technical accounting knowledge; insurance experience preferred; Big 4 desired.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, ASC 805 and ASC 606.
• Familiarity with ASC 718 and ASC 815.
• Proficient with NetSuite or similar ERP systems; strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist allocation of purchase prices and determine fair values for acquisitions.
• Read and interpret asset and equity purchase agreements and closing statements.
• Review debt agreements to record transactions per GAAP and estimate principal/interest payments.
• Assist ASC 606 revenue true-ups and fair value measurements for contingent consideration.
• Collaborate on hedge accounting and journal entries under ASC 815 and ASC 718.
• Use NetSuite to prepare intercompany journal entries across subsidiaries.
• Assist with annual audit by maintaining schedules and rollforwards.
• Prepare and review GAAP disclosures and monthly reporting to senior management and Board.
