FormFactor, Inc. seeks a Senior Technical Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting for complex transactions, reporting to the Director of SEC Reporting. The role leads technical accounting research, develops positions, and ensures U.S.

GAAP application across the organization. This position partners with FP&A, Legal, Tax, and auditors in a fast-paced public company environment, specializing in policy development, controls, and close processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Active CPA certification.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or technical accounting.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience working in a public company environment or supporting SEC reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with complex transactions (e.g., M&A, revenue recognition, derivatives).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience in a SOX-compliant environment.
  • Exposure to manufacturing or multi-entity organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Research, interpret, and apply U.S. GAAP to complex and non-routine transactions.
  • Develop, document, and defend accounting conclusions with clear technical support.
  • Execute and support accounting for areas such as: Purchase accounting, Intangible assets and amortization, Investments, Hedging activities, Goodwill and other technical accounting matters.
  • Prepare analyses, documentation, and journal entries, as applicable.
  • Develop, update, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistent application of GAAP.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and regulatory developments; Lead impact assessments and coordinate implementation efforts.
  • Draft clear, comprehensive technical accounting memoranda and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Legal, Tax, Manufacturing Operations, and auditors to proactively identify and resolve accounting issues.
  • Support the monthly close process through journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and process improvement.
  • Communicate complex accounting matters clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Provide cross-functional and team support as needed.
