Job summary

Hire Hangar is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant with hands-on US GAAP experience to lead lease accounting under ASC 842, support 409A valuations, and manage stock-based compensation. The role involves close collaboration with external auditors and cross-functional teams, reporting to US-based finance leadership.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and prior remote-work experience in a US-oriented environment.

Qualifications

5+ years accounting experience, with focus in US GAAP environments
Direct ASC 842 experience (implementation or ongoing) required
Exposure to 409A valuations and ASC 718 stock-based compensation
Public accounting or US company startup experience preferred
Advanced English (C1+) for US stakeholder communications
Strong Excel and ERP system proficiency (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks)
Must have prior remote work experience and familiarity with collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace)

Responsibilities

Own ASC 842 lease accounting, including classifications and disclosures
Support 409A valuation processes and review data and reports
Record ASC 718 stock-based compensation entries and maintain equity schedules
Manage month-end and year-end close, journals, accruals, reconciliations, and checklists
Prepare technical accounting memos and audit-ready documentation for complex transactions
Serve as primary contact for external auditors on lease and equity accounting
Assist with US GAAP financial statement preparation and disclosures
