Job summary

LHH is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join its corporate accounting team in Fort Worth, TX. This highly visible role partners with senior leadership on complex accounting transactions, technical accounting matters, SEC reporting, and strategic corporate initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, deep U.S. GAAP knowledge, and the ability to draft technical memorandums. CPA is preferred and on-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge with ability to research and apply standards.
• Experience drafting technical accounting memorandums and opinions.

Responsibilities

• Research and advise on complex technical accounting matters.
• Prepare technical accounting memorandums and documentation for significant transactions.
• Evaluate impact of acquisitions, debt restructurings, and equity transactions.
• Assist with purchase price allocations for business combinations.
• Monitor and implement new accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for technical matters.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Support SEC reporting (Forms 10-Q/10-K/8-K).
• Assist with acquisition-related financial statements and pro forma reporting.
• Analyze issues and develop well-supported accounting conclusions.
• Partner with finance leaders to assess accounting implications.
• Support external audits and quarterly reviews.
• Prepare management reports for executive leadership.
• Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Research, analyze, and provide recommendations on complex technical accounting matters
• Prepare technical accounting memorandums and supporting documentation for significant business transactions
• Evaluate the accounting impact of acquisitions, debt restructurings, equity transactions, and other complex corporate events
• Assist with purchase price allocations (PPA) related to business combinations and acquisitions
• Monitor and implement new accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations related to technical accounting matters, including: Business combinations, Stock-based compensation, Equity instruments, Debt and interest accounting, Consolidations and eliminations
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Support SEC reporting activities, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K filings
• Assist with preparation of acquisition-related financial statements and pro forma reporting requirements
• Analyze complex accounting issues and independently develop well-supported accounting conclusions
• Partner with finance and business leaders to assess the accounting implications of proposed transactions
• Support external audit and quarterly review processes
• Prepare management reports and presentations for executive leadership
• Participate in special projects and other strategic initiatives as assigned

What They're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required
• CPA strongly preferred
• Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with proven experience researching and applying U.S. GAAP
• Experience drafting technical accounting memorandums and supporting accounting positions
• Ability to independently identify accounting issues, perform research, and develop defensible conclusions
• Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills
