Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking an accomplished communications leader to shape and accelerate messaging for our autonomous driving technology. You will translate complex AI and hardware milestones into compelling stories for press, analysts, and the public.

You will own spokesperson support for product and engineering leaders, craft talking points, briefings, FAQs, and interview prep, and build strong relationships with reporters across technology and transportation beats.

Qualifications

10+ years of communications experience (in-house or agency).
Proven track record of media relations with technology audiences.
Experience developing plans for product launches and technical announcements.
Technical storytelling chops with mass-market instincts.
Ability to manage multiple launches in fast-paced environments.
Collaborates with Legal and Safety on sensitive issues.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute communications plans for product and technology announcements.
Translate complex AI, perception, and hardware work into clear stories for press and public.
Own spokesperson support for Product and Engineering leaders—craft talking points, briefing docs, FAQs, and interview prep.
Build and maintain relationships with tech, AI, and transportation reporters; pitch stories and handle inquiries.
Support rapid response with reactive statements and holding lines; escalate as needed.
Write and edit blog posts, press releases, technical explainers, and social copy.
