Job summary

Skyward, a Skyward family company, seeks a Director of Technology to lead engineering, shape architecture for satellite connectivity, and align product solutions with customer outcomes. This role bridges hands‑on technical leadership with strategic product development across cross‑functional teams.

You will drive scalable architectures, oversee software and hardware decisions, and serve as the primary technical voice in customer engagements and RFP responses.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive technical experience with at least 3 years in a senior technical leadership role (Director, VP Engineering, CTO, or equivalent).
• Strong background in networking technologies (LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, routing and switching, security).
• Hands-on satellite connectivity experience and familiarity with platforms like Starlink, Viasat, Hughes, or Intelsat.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development, define engineering standards, and drive agile processes.
• Define hardware & networking architecture decisions for satellite connectivity and edge computing.
• Guide end‑to‑end solution architectures with security, redundancy, and scalability at the core.
• Engage with customers as the primary technical authority in pre‑sales and solution design.
• Collaborate with product and leadership to define technical roadmaps and go‑to‑market content.
