Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to own the architectural direction and cross-service execution for our distributed AI platform. You will decompose complex designs into executable work streams across multiple engineering teams and harden communications with zero-trust verification.

You will also mentor senior engineers, drive AI-SDLC practices, and lead remediation efforts to maintain platform stability and security resilience at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field + 12+ years of professional software engineering experience; OR Master’s with 8+ years; OR PhD with 5+ years; OR equivalent experience.
• 7+ years designing, building, and operating high-concurrency distributed backend microservices in production (Go and Python).
• 4+ years designing and implementing enterprise authentication and authorization systems (OAuth2.0 / OIDC, JWT, RFC 8693, mTLS).
• Experience leveraging code gen tools and agents for software development (AI-SDLC).
• Experience building/integrating LLM orchestration frameworks, agentic runtimes (ReAct), tool-calling interfaces, or MCP servers.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural direction for the distributed AI platform and cross-service execution.
• Author end-to-end technical specifications for platform capabilities across engineering teams.
• Harden service-to-service communication with cryptographic identity signing and zero-trust verification.
• Lead remediation and production triage to maintain system stability and security resilience.
