Job summary

Nextern is seeking a versatile Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support both capital equipment and catheter manufacturing on the factory floor in Minnesota. You will build, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical assemblies, run electrical safety tests, and help qualify equipment and processes in a regulated environment.

This role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, the ability to work with limited supervision, and a track record of solving problems across multiple domains,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on technician experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Not an entry-level position; must work with limited supervision.
• Experience executing equipment qualifications (IQ/OQ) and writing technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Electromechanical & Capital Equipment Build: Assemble, integrate, and debug consoles and capital equipment per BOMs and routings.
• Electrical Safety & Automated Test: Set up and troubleshoot HIPOT, insulation, and leakage tests; operate automated test equipment and verify results.
• Catheter & Balloon Manufacturing: Support catheter shaft prep, bonding, inspection, and functional testing; document results.
• Equipment Qualification, Maintenance & Metrology: Perform IQ/OQ, preventive maintenance, calibration, and dimensional inspection.
