Job summary

Sun Life U.S. seeks an AVP, Technology & Cyber Risk Management to lead second-line risk oversight for the US business group. You will partner with first-line leaders to provide timely insight on initiatives, controls, incidents, and emerging risks. You will ensure governance artifacts convey clear assurance to executives and boards.

You will lead a skilled team, drive program maturity, and align with regulatory expectations while overseeing risk reporting to multiple committees nationwide.

Qualifications

• University degree and professional designation, with more than 10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional technology or information-security certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or ITIL.
• Deep knowledge of global technology and cyber standards, regulatory expectations, and industry practices, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Demonstrated experience with Risk and Control Self-Assessments, Operational Risk Events, Key Risk Indicators, and scenario analysis.
• Strong understanding of first-line technology processes, controls, and systems.

Responsibilities

• Own US technology and cyber risk oversight, developing the second-line oversight program.
• Challenge risk policies, standards, and supporting directives; monitor KRIs and incidents.
• Report quarterly on risk profiles to risk committees and provide regional reporting support.
• Lead execution and improvement of the US technology and cyber risk program.
• Advise US risk professionals and build regional maturity and alignment with corporate risk.
