Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking an AVP, Technology & Cyber Risk Management for the US to lead second-line risk oversight, partnering with first-line leaders to provide timely insights on initiatives, processes, controls, incidents, and emerging risks.

The role ensures governance artifacts provide clear assurance to executives and the board on the technology and cyber program and risk posture, with opportunities to drive strategic improvements and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• University degree and professional designation; over 10 years of relevant experience.
• CISSP, CISM, CISA or ITIL certification or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of global tech/cyber standards and regulatory expectations (NIST CSF).
• Experience with Risk and Control Self-Assessments and OREs.
• Strong executive communication, presentation and stakeholder influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Own US technology and cyber risk oversight and governance.
• Deliver risk reporting to committees and regional risk groups.
• Lead the US tech and cyber risk program and drive its continuous improvement.
• Strengthen regional alignment and maturity across risk practices.
