Job summary

The Excel Center in Rockford, IL, seeks a Senior Teacher to coach teachers, collaborate with leadership, and support student success. You will teach two core classes and help schedule and align instruction with school goals.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, Illinois teaching license, and experience coaching teachers; strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject specialty with minimum two years of teaching post-licensing; three-five years preferred.
• Illinois Teaching License required.
• Two or more years working in classrooms and coaching teachers, preferably with high-need students.
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and follow-through.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze data for informed decisions.
• Strong communication skills; ability to give direct feedback effectively.
• Ability to work well in a team; ability to bridge/progress professional learning communities.
• Ability to create, monitor, and maintain systems that enhance organizational efficiency.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; autonomous yet receptive to direction.
• Effective presentation skills and an engaging presence.
• Working knowledge of Google apps, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Teach two core classes to model instructional excellence.
• Provide academic coaching to staff and lead bi-weekly teacher meetings.
• Help teachers develop instructional strategies and intervention plans.
• Ensure access to high-quality internal and external professional development.
• Serve as the teacher liaison on the leadership team.
