Job summary

Capital Group seeks a Senior Taxonomy & Metadata Specialist to lead enterprise taxonomy design and governance across marketing and digital assets. You will drive metadata frameworks, tagging standards, and workflow automation to ensure assets are discoverable and compliant.

You will collaborate with Marketing, Digital, Compliance, and IT to align strategies with business goals and FINRA/SEC requirements, while mentoring teams and building metadata literacy across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in taxonomy/metadata management; 2+ years in leadership.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments.
  • Familiar with Adobe Experience Cloud products (Workfront & DAM).
  • Knowledge of content lifecycle and compliance requirements (FINRA/SEC).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, implementation, and governance of enterprise taxonomies and metadata schemas across marketing & digital platforms.
  • Develop and enforce policies for metadata consistency, content tagging, and taxonomy use across teams.
  • Serve as domain expert and advise stakeholders on best practices and trends.
  • Oversee taxonomy implementations in Adobe Workfront, Adobe DAM, AI apps; include Claravine, Seismic, Toppan Merrill.
  • Develop operational reporting and QA processes; automate workflows for governance.
  • Partner with Marketing, Digital, Compliance, Data, IT to align taxonomy strategies with goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Create training and documentation to support taxonomy adoption and metadata literacy.
  • Maintain stakeholder communication to support content production and optimization.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

This role combines deep taxonomy and metadata expertise with hands-on leadership of content operations to ensure assets are structured, discoverable, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.You will lead the development and implementation of metadata frameworks, taxonomy models, and content workflows that strengthen governance, improve operational efficiency, and support more personalized customer experiences.· Lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise taxonomies and metadata schemas across marketing and digital platforms.· Develop and enforce policies and standards for metadata consistency, content tagging, and taxonomy use across teams and systems.· Serve as the domain expert, advising stakeholders on best practices and emerging trends.· Oversee and optimize taxonomy implementations in Adobe Workfront, Adobe DAM, AI applications, and other critical tagging systems, including Claravine, Seismic, and Toppan Merrill.· Develop operational reporting, quality assurance processes, and workflow automation to keep content governed, consistent, and accessible.· Partner with Marketing, Digital, Compliance, Data, and IT to align taxonomy and metadata strategies with business goals and regulatory requirements.· Create training and documentation that support taxonomy adoption and build metadata literacy across the organization.· Maintain continuous stakeholder communication to support content production, governance, and optimization.· Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.“I am the person Capital Group is looking for.”· You have 7+ years of relevant experience in taxonomy and metadata management, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.· You have demonstrated experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.· You have expertise in Adobe Experience Cloud products, especially Adobe Workfront and Adobe DAM.· You bring a strong understanding of content lifecycle management, digital asset workflows, and compliance requirements such as FINRA & SEC.· You can design enterprise taxonomies and metadata schemas and translate business requirements into scalable standards and workflows.· You have strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills and can influence teams without direct authority.· You can explain taxonomy and metadata concepts in clear business language and drive adoption through practical training, documentation, and partnership.· A Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Information Science, Library Science or Digital Asset Management is strongly preferred.
