NorthRock Partners, LLC. is seeking an experienced Director, Tax Services in our Minneapolis, MN; Deer Park, IL; or San Francisco, CA offices.

You will lead proactive tax planning, oversee complex return prep, and provide strategic client guidance for high-net-worth individuals and related entities. You will mentor a talented tax services team, coordinate with financial advisors, and ensure timely, accurate service delivery in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required; Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and tax services, including extensive experience serving high-net-worth clients.
• Minimum of two years of formal supervisory experience.
• Advanced expertise in complex tax return preparation, review, tax planning, and consulting for high-net-worth individuals and related entities.
• Experience managing tax authority inquiries, examinations, audits, and complex compliance matters.
• Proficiency with professional tax preparation, research, and workflow systems, including CCH Axcess and BNA.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

• Lead proactive, year-round tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and related entities.
• Partner with financial advisors and cross-functional teams to develop and implement tax strategies.
• Serve as a trusted tax resource to clients and advisors, communicating complex tax considerations clearly.
• Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Provide guidance on trust and gift tax planning and compliance with estate professionals.
• Research complex federal, state, and local tax matters and coordinate responses to tax notices and audits.
• Lead, coach, and develop Tax Services team members through guidance and feedback.
• Manage client and advisor expectations through proactive communication and follow-up.
• Identify opportunities to enhance workflows and boost client experience.
