Job summary

Convoy Finance is seeking a hands-on Senior Tax Accountant in New York to join a small, agile firm serving technology, SaaS, fintech and Web3 clients. You will own tax compliance, reporting, planning and special projects, partnering with Finance and external advisors to ensure accuracy and growth readiness.

This role offers remote work, close collaboration with senior leaders, and opportunities to influence scalable tax processes as the organization expands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred or actively pursuing certification.
• 3–6+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, industry, or both.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax principles.
• Experience preparing and reviewing tax filings and schedules.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with filing 1120, 1040, 1065 and preparing 1099 and W2.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings and supporting workpapers.
• Support income tax, sales and use tax, franchise tax, and other compliance.
• Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision processes.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors for timely filings.
• Monitor tax law changes and assess impacts on the business.
• Perform tax research and document conclusions on technical matters.
• Analyze tax accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Support financial statement reporting related to income taxes.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and efficiencies.
• Help maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
• Support audits and information requests; maintain controls and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on tax considerations for initiatives.
