Job summary

BELAY, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to support the BELAY Financial - Tax department. You will prepare and review complex returns, perform proactive tax planning, and mentor junior staff while building strong client relationships.

This remote, full-time exempt role offers balanced workload with opportunities to advise clients year-round and stay current on tax law changes, while collaborating with the Tax Manager and Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-6 years of progressive tax accounting experience.
• Experience preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Experience with tax planning, projections, and tax research.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state tax laws, financial statements, and accounting principles.
• Experience managing multiple client engagements or priorities within established deadlines.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and workflow management tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Conduct tax planning and projections for individuals and businesses year-round.
• Research federal and state tax matters and respond to IRS/state inquiries.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff accountants.
• Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines with accuracy.
• Stay current on changes to federal and state tax laws and communicate updates to clients and team members.
