The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior US Tax Manager to join our tax team to support our growing business - this role represents a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing US listed Group, with exposure to a broad range of tax matters. The role will be based in the US, report directly to the Head of Tax and will require a high level of interaction with the wider finance team, commercial team and advisors.

This role will oversee all US tax matters for the Group - the ideal candidate will have experience in US GAAP reporting, compliance and advisory across all taxes (including Sales Tax), in a US listed environment. They will also be excited to live and breathe the Genius values – we’re one team, we’re brave and we drive change.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee all US tax matters for the Group. Responsibilities will include:

  • Tax Reporting – management of the Group’s quarterly US GAAP tax reporting process
  • Tax Compliance & Audits – co-ordination of tax compliance for all US taxes and management of tax audits, ensuring we are compliant across all taxes in the US
  • Tax Advisory – support the business in all tax matters including new products/new states
  • Tax Processes – lead the charge on improving processes to support the US compliance and reporting processes, including automation where possible to support the growing business which is set to scale
  • Tax Projects – support the Head of Tax with strategic tax projects

Required Skills

  • CPA qualified, with a minimum of 6 years post qualification experience in reporting, compliance and advisory - preferably a mix of working in a large accounting firm and in industry
  • Strong technical knowledge – US tax technical, US GAAP and international rules including GILTI, BEAT and subpart F
  • Practical experience in consolidated tax provisions and managing tax compliance across all US taxes (including Sales Tax)
  • Self starter who can effectively operate both independently with a minimum level of supervision and within a team environment
  • Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills with an ability to communicate tax issues to non-tax audiences and a desire to build relationships cross functionally
  • Advanced proficiency in excel and experience with tax technology solutions

What’s in it for you?

The salary for this role is based on an annualized salary of up to $140000 to $160000 per annum depending on relevant experience. This role will also be eligible to take part in Genius Sports Group's benefits plan.

As well as a competitive salary and annual leave allowance, our benefits include health insurance, skills training and much more, depending on the location. We also offer a host of softer benefits, including many social events throughout the year such as summer and winter holiday parties, monthly team building events, sports tournaments, charity days and wellbeing activities.

How we work

We have adapted a forward-thinking ‘Ways of Working’ framework, which sets out (amongst other things) the opportunities for Geniuses to work flexibly, remotely and on working holidays. It affects different teams and locations differently, so please ask for further information in how it would work with this role.

Our employees are empowered to stretch the boundaries of what’s achievable, always reaching further and pushing the edges to see what gives. We collaborate, we innovate, and we celebrate. We will continue to grow as an organisation and continue to invest in our highly talented and diverse team of Geniuses.

Genius Sports Group is proud to be an equal opportunities employer. We recognize and celebrate the benefits that a diverse and inclusive workforce bring to our business, our customers and our staff. We welcome and will consider all applications regardless of age, different abilities or disability, gender re-assignment, marriage, pregnancy, maternity, race or nationality, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation (and any other applicable status).
